:: Dandelion Pie by Lily Erlic ::

(for children ages 5-12 years old)

I went a walk-in on the fields,

spying my eye on dandelions,

mini, yellow suns spread out like quiet eyes,

blinking in the wind, singing their song,

Dandelion pie, Dandelion pie,

I went a pick-in on the fields,

spying my eye on dandelions,

plucking yellow suns from their nest,

like filling my basket full of golden coins,

their song echoes like the beating of drums,

Dandelion pie, Dandelion pie,

I went a mak’in on the fields,

spying my eye on dandelions,

filling the dough with mini yellow suns,

like storing yellow buttons in a sack,

their song roaring like a lion’s call,

DANDELION PIE, DANDELION PIE!
